Are old stretch marks harder to cure? The repair of torn dermal layers is dependent on two primary issues - one, cellular turnover; and two, regeneration of healthy connective tissue. As we age, turnover slows, tissue loses it's ability to retain moisture, and connective tissue becomes harder to repair. Why is "antioxidant" protection or repair important? Great question! Oxidants (and oxidization) work to destroy cell membranes. Membranes help with water retention.
